The Gods

No this post isn't going to be about how you should convert to some religion, its just pointing out some things about the Greek Gods.

1.  The greeks made seperate Gods for Love and Marriage.
2.  A famous characteristic for the Goddess of marriage (Hera) is jealousy.
3.  The Gods are constantly cheating on their wives/husbands.
4.  The Gods all have some characteristics of humans.  Unlike most Gods they have their flaws.
5.  Zeus killed his father (Kronos) and cut him up into tons of pieces, as Zeus's father had done to HIS father (Uranus) (both the fathers were immortal, so they didn't REALLY die, but...) yet it is s HUGE sin to kill someone in your family.

Yeah, I just was pondering that.  It's smart, really of the greeks and Romans to make seperate Gods for love and marriage, and it tells us a lot about them.  I've heard that the Gods are really humans, but immortal ones.  The one thing that really confuses me is that Zeus can kill his father,, yet humans can't kill anyone in their family!  Yet again mortals couldn't cheat either.  The Gods were like immortal humans who could do whatever they wanted! I can't see why the Greeks looked up to these mistake making Gods.  Arent part of the reason we have Gods is to have something perfect in our lives??????  Whatever, hardly anyone believes in those Gods anymore, which is sad because they have the BEST stories, so interlocking!
