Even MORE about the Greek Gods. My friend (who also has a blog) saw that I was writing about the Gods so she wrote something too. A few of the most memorable statement she made were. (I'm changing the wording)

Zeus is like King Henry VII. They both want food, drink, women and power.
Aphrodite the Goddess of love, doesn't love anyone except Ares (God of war). She loves the God of war because opposites attract. Also she is married to Hephestus (a really ugly but brilliant metal worker.) She is constantly cheating on him with Ares. Maybe thats because the Greeks thought love was good for nothing.
Hera is described as mean and an old hag. Maybe the Greeks thought that meant marriage was bad.

The things I disagree with is
that the myths were not composed as gossip. The Gods had many temples devoted to them and many faithful servants. You could not bad-mouth the Gods or you would be killed. Therefore its not REALY like gossip. Therefore there must also be a LITTLE reverence, and yes the myths were to teach lessons.
Also THE GREEKS AND ROMANS BELIEVED WHOLLY IN MARRIAGE! They arranged them and getting pregnant without being married was a taboo, and since they WANTED you to reproduce, naturally that means marriage was a GOOD thing in their minds.

every1, heres some advice.
when you're commenting on something someone wrote, USE REAL QUOTES. DO NOT "re-word" things. when you re-word, you are distorting facts and this is a bitchy thing to do. im not mad at u for distorting my blog post to the general public, just be a bit more careful next time. k?
